Avatar Politics: The Social Applications of Second Life

January  15, 2007  - In August of 2006, a digital representation of former Virginia governor Mark Warner stepped onto a virtual stage. Warner was breaking new ground, becoming the first major political figure to formally enter into the online virtual world known as Second Life. Others are following his lead. Congressman George Miller (D-CA) held a question and answer session on Second Life. If we loosen the reins a bit on our creativity, what else might we dream up? What could be done with Second Life today, or in our next campaign or political action?
